Commity FounderA note to everyone on the wall

Hi, I built Commity. This wall shows real people with real commitments in the app. No manual posts, no fake entries.

I hope it helps some of you stick to your goals and commitments. Thanks, and I hope you find it useful!

What is an accountability community?

An accountability community is a group of people who share what they're committing to and check in on showing up — so following through stops being a private fight with your own willpower. It's one of the oldest tricks for staying consistent: when other people are doing the same thing, and can see whether you did too, you're far more likely to actually do it. That's true whether your goal is the gym, fitness, the library, a study habit, or any kind of discipline you're trying to build.

Most apps stop at a streak or a habit tracker — a box you tick, which is easy to fool and easy to quit. Commity goes further. You put a real stake on your goal, a GPS check-in proves you actually showed up before a minute counts, and your streak grows every day you keep your commitment. The community wall adds the missing piece: other people, in it with you. Curious how that works in practice? Read how to build consistency and why putting money on your goals works, or see it built for gym accountability. When you're ready, get the app and back your commitment for real.

Community questions

What is an accountability community?

An accountability community is a group of people who share what they're working toward and check in on showing up, so following through stops being a private fight with your own willpower. Knowing other people are doing the same thing — at the gym, in the library, on their fitness or study goals — and can see whether you did, makes you far more likely to actually do it. The Commity community is a public wall of people committing to a goal and keeping their streak.

How is this different from a habit or streak tracker?

A normal habit or streak tracker just lets you tick a box — easy to fool and easy to quit. Commity adds two things a tracker can't: a real stake (you put money on your goal) and a GPS check-in that proves you actually showed up at your gym, library or spot before a minute counts. The community wall adds the third: other people, watching the same way you are.

How do I get on the community wall?

Download the Commity app and create an active commitment. Your username, profile photo, schedule and current streak appear on the public wall automatically while your commitment is live.

Can I challenge a friend?

Yes. Start a duo challenge in the app and send a friend a link or a code. You each make your own pact, and both end on the same Sunday. The first to miss a day pays a charity the other one picks, on the free plan too: 75% of the missed stake on Free, all of it on Premium. No money ever moves between friends.

What is the Journal?

The Journal is a weekly feed inside the app. Members post a short note about their week, and their real show-ups, minutes and streak are attached automatically, so every post comes with proof. Free plans post once a week, Premium up to three times a day, and anyone can like a post.

Is the Commity community free?

Yes, the community wall is completely free and open to everyone. The Commity app itself is free to start too: you only add a card when you make a commitment, and you pay $0 for as long as you show up. Premium ($4.99/month) is optional.

What information appears on the wall?

Your app username and profile photo, your weekly schedule (minutes per day and days per week), your current streak, and the amount you staked on your goal. Your exact GPS coordinates and payment details are never shown.

How does showing up with other people help discipline and consistency?

Discipline is much easier when you're not doing it alone. Seeing other people commit and keep their streak creates positive social pressure and proof that it's possible, which keeps you going on the days motivation is gone. Pairing that community with a real stake on your goal — the core of how Commity works — turns showing up into the default.

What goals can I commit to on the wall?

Anything you want to build discipline around — the gym, studying, the library, a daily walk, your craft. Create a commitment in the app and you'll show up on the wall while it's active.

Words are easy. Showing up isn't.
